In-game description: CREATES A DAMAGING CLOUD ON TARGETED TILE. PLAYERS TAKE MORE DAMAGE THE LONGER THEY STAND IN THE CLOUD.

  • When cast directly on a player, they don't start taking damage until after they've been standing in the cloud for 1 second. However, when a player teleports into a cloud, they start taking damage immediately
  • As an example of how the damage is calculated, if you cast Acid Cloud on your opponent and they stay in the cloud for 8 seconds, they will take 46 damage: 0 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 8 + 8 = 46
  • The damage starts over at 4/s whenever a player enters the could, regardless of how long the cloud has been active and regardless of how much damage it has already dealt
  • The maximum amount of damage one cloud can inflict is 78

Trivia

  • Back when it could be cast on the same tile as Petrifying Prison, you could inflict 52 guaranteed damage as long as your opponent didn't have Armor of the Sun

History

  • Acid Cloud was one of the game's 16 original spells. It cost 45 mana, did damage of 1/s - 8/s, starting inflicting damage immediately, and lasted 20 seconds
  • PATCH 1.1.1 - Nerf: Can no longer be cast on the same tile as Petrifying Prison
  • PATCH 1.1.2 - Buff: Cost lowered from 45 to 35, duration extended from 20s to 22s
  • PATCH 1.3.0 - Buff: Deals damage through Armor of the Sun; Nerf: Duration reduced from 22s to 12s
  • PATCH 1.3.2 - Nerf: If cast directly on an opponent, doesn't deal damage during the first second; Buff: Starts dealing damage at 4 instead of 1
